Good afternoon, Neighbors,
This email is an outlook for 2024, with a summary of everything we accomplished for 2023. First, we are proud that in 2023 our IWDD greatly improved neighborhood safety, addressing dangerous holes in the system by adding security covers to six stands. We also had a successful fall block party and hope to get the free tree giveaway planted within the month. If you are interested in sponsoring an event for 2024, please reach out.
Our IWDD name has changed and now called the Arcadia Corners IWDD #81 (previously Rancho Ventura 12 IWDD #81). This old name was a bit confusing, as there is another Rancho Ventura IWDD south of us, and we have been calling ourselves Arcadia Corners for many years. Our neighborhood association is still referred to as Arcadia Corners Neighborhood Association (ACNA).
Below is a summary of all the highlights.
Jeff
Highlights:
- The IWDD has a new official name! Arcadia Corners IWDD #81. The new schedule names are as follows:
- Arcadia Corners IWDD Self Serve (previously Rancho Ventra 18 IWDD)
- Arcadia Corners IWDD IRR #1 (previously Rancho Ventura IRR IWDD)
- Arcadia Corners IWDD IRR #2 (previously Rancho Ventura 16 IRR IWDD)
- We are happy to report that last year we addressed all the dangerous holes in the irrigation system. This improves the resiliency of our system by increasing neighborhood safety, preventing trash or other items, animals, etc. from entering the pipes.
- The ACNA block party was a huge success, was sponsored by the IWDD, yote.studio, and neighborhood donation.
- For the full year of 2023, we broke even (our fund balance is approximately $126). We had donations of $1,300 from four residents, that allowed us to complete install of covers at all locations.
- Our goal is to have $15,000 emergency fund by 2027 to address unforeseen neighborhood crises.
- We anticipate raising the 2025 yearly tax levy by approximately $20 per resident/ annually to establish the emergency fund. We also want to allocate funds and apply for City grant funding to beautify the neighborhood by painting irrigation infrastructure, removing surrounding graffiti, mural project, etc.
- Our first ever annual report for the first six months of our operations has been submitted to the County.
- Brett Crowther is staying with us for the rest of 2024 but is planning to leave this year. We need your help. If you would like to join the neighborhood committee to recommend a new neighborhood irrigator, please respond to this email.
